The plight of British Columbia’s endangered wild salmon got here first within the resolution in opposition to renewing licenses for fifteen open-net Atlantic salmon farms within the Discovery Islands space off Vancouver Island, says the federal fisheries minister.
Joyce Murray mentioned wild salmon are in critical, long-term decline, with some runs close to collapse, and the federal government is making their safety its precedence.
