Australia has rejected a proposed coal mine because of the risk it poses to the setting. This coal mine would have been solely 10km from the Nice Barrier Reef, and the general public was overwhelmingly against its building. Of the 9,000 public feedback, 98 % have been in favor of blocking the venture.
